It’s rare we see such an accomplished stallion in sport available to North American breeders via cooled semen. Salvino’s rise to the top of sport started in the FEI Young Horse in Spain, earning top placings in the 5 & 6-Year Old classes with scores as high as 83%. After his importation to the US, Salvino was paired with Adrienne Lyle who brought the talented stallion to great success competing Grand Prix internationally.  His unmatched performance record includes representing the US at the World Cup Finals, competing at World Equestrian Games including finishing 6th individually at the 2022 WEG in both the Grand Prix and the Freestyle, and earning a Team Silver Medal at the Tokyo Olympics.  Salvino has been the US Equestrian’s International Horse of the Year and has ranked 8th on the WBFSH Dressage rankings.

Salvino’s talent for the Grand Prix is no surprise when you look closer at his pedigree. His sire Sandro Hit has proven to be one of the most influential sires of modern dressage breeding with over 200 S-Level competitors, 190 approved sons, and 300 premium mares. Due to the success of his offspring, Sandro Hit has maintained a top ten position on the WBFSH Dressage Sire Rankings for the last ten years – not surprising given he has produced no less than ten Olympic competitors. Damsire Donnerhall is another exceptional producer for dressage with over 100 Grand Prix competitors and 120 licensed sons to his credit. The combination of Sandro Hit and Donnerhall has proven to be an exceptionally successful breeding nick.  Adding further depth of royal dressage blood is the stallion Brentano II whose standout daughter Brentina rose to fame under Debbie McDonald.  This is a fun, special connection as Debbie was also Adrienne and Salvino’s trainer.

With the focus previously being on solely on sport, Salvino will be available to breeders for the first time in 2024. With his exceptional performance record and proven pedigree, we feel Salvino will be a wonderful asset to breeders in North America.
