Louisville was an early standout, winning the Colts of 2017 and the Dressage at Devon Foal Championship. At his stallion sport tests, Louisville earned strong scores each year, including highlights of 9.0 for his canter and rideability and an 8.5 for his trot. In 2022, Louisville was reserve champion for USDF All-Breeds at First Level, reserve champion at the USDF Region 1 Finals, and finished the year by winning the U.S. Dressage Finals. The 2023 show season saw Louisville confidently move up to Third Level, earning a median score of 71.5%, ranking first for the USDF All-Breeds Awards and earning a wildcard score for the U.S. Dressage Finals. Louisville’s sire, Lord Leatherdale, sired multiple PAVO Cup winners, young horse world champions and international Grand Prix horses. Louisville’s dam had a successful competition career that included USEF Intermediaire championships and Grand Prix wins. Her sire, Negro, is one of the most proven sires for producing Grand Prix offspring, including Valegro and Fendi T. Great-grandsire, Fruhling, was an advanced level show jumper whose influence is well established. The Lord Leatherdale-Negro combination is a particularly proven nick, which includes World Champion Glamourdale and Olympic medalist Everdale. The quality of Louisville’s foals is apparent, with multiple Premium and Gold Medal foals to his credit. They’re earning top ribbons at breed shows around the country. Louisville’s offspring exhibit his expressive gaits, strong stamp on type, and outgoing personality. His first foal crop is being started under saddle in 2024.
