Devon Heir was the high-scoring Hanoverian at his 100-day test and winner of the AHS stallion licensing for the West Coast in 2004. His sire, De Niro, was a son of the legendary Donnerhall, was ranked the undisputed No. 1 dressage sire multiple times in the WBFSH sire rankings, has numerous licensed sons, and his foals topped Elite Hanoverian foal auctions. Devon Heir’s dam is by dressage legend, Rubinstein I, sire of 66+ approved stallions, successful Grand Prix competitors and a member of the 1996 German Olympic team. Devon Heir was the USDF/Cosequin Series West Coast Champion Mature Stallion, second in the USDF/Cosequin Horse of the Year standings in 2005 and U.S. grand champion stallion in the USDF Breeder’s Championship in 2006. In 2009, he was grand champion at Fourth Level at Pebble Beach under rider/trainer Willy Arts, winning almost every class he entered with scores in the 70s. In 2010, Ashlyn De Groot competed Devon Heir in the Young Rider division, qualifying for the Young Rider National Championships in Lexington, ranking first in the U.S. for Young Riders at Prix St. Georges. Devon Heir is of modern type, with lovely conformation and three correct, suspended gaits. He produces mostly dark, refined foals with correct conformation, outstanding temperaments and spectacular movement. His daughter, Dazzling Winter, won the 2009 California Dressage Society Sport Horse Breeding Championships (83.7%) and daughter, Donata, tied for second in the 2009 ISR/Oldenburg Foal Championships-Fillies (8.6%).
