At the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Sanceo earned the highest U.S. individual score and helped the team to a silver medal–the best team finish since 1948! Sanceo scored 81.596% in the Grand Prix Special, 78.416% for fifth in the individual test, and an impressive 84.300% for his emotive Grand Prix freestyle. Sabine Schut-Kery credits their success to Sanceo’s desire to work for her and please. “He’s there for me, and I really do feel we have an incredible partnership. He’s sensitive, not over-reactive, he lets me guide him and be the leader,” she said. Sanceo is one of the most decorated dressage stallions in North America today, achieving top marks with every goal set. Sanceo’s type is gorgeous, balanced, leggy and harmonious, with a medium frame, correct legs and hooves. Sanceo’s best attribute is his golden character: he’s smart, sweet, calm, happy to work and learn. Sire, San Remo, is a leading dressage sire, eighth in the 2018 WBSH ranking and described as a modern dressage horse with quality movement, type, three outstanding gaits and a good nature. Sanceo’s dam, SPS Rivera, is a Premium mare sired by Ramiro’s Son II/Ramiro. Several of Sanceo’s siblings are Premium mares, some have competed up to Intermediare I, and others jump up to 1.30m. Ramiro’s Son II produced hard-working, sound, exquisite sport horses–many competing internationally. Sanceo’s first foals are high quality in Europe and the U.S., earning several gold medals.
