Beau Balou consistently stamps his offspring with a friendly, brave temperament. He throws his signature canter, size and athleticism, making him suitable for dressage, hunters and jumpers. He is a great cross for Thoroughbred mares. His dam, Iroise de Grandry, competed internationally at the 1.50m level at all the major European shows in France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. She is 27-years-old and remains sound and rideable today. At the young age of 3, Beau Balou won his Canadian Warmblood licensing and finished as reserve champion against older stallions in his stallion performance test. He also finished second against the top-20 3 year olds at the prestigious Lieutenant Governor’s Cup at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. He continued his winning ways as a 4-year-old, with several high placings in the hunter ring and ended the season with an excellent score of 8.29 at the North American Stallion Sport Test. He successfully completed his second NASST in 2021, obtaining lifetime breeding approvals. Beau Balou obtained high scores at his testing for scope, character, temperament, canter and rideability. His impressive lineage comes from world-renowned show jumping stallions–Baloubet du Rouet, Argentinus and Laudanum xx. Of the five top Canadian Warmblood Futurity winners in 2020, three were sired by Beau Balou. In 2021, he sired the Foal Futurity winner for Canadian Warmbloods. In 2023 Beau Balou sired several Gold Medal foals. He came in fourth in his first grand prix with two clear rounds. He is consistently jumping at the 1.30/1.40m level.
