Orbetello is bred for performance at the highest level. During his Oldenburg stallion licensing (Vechta),
he scored the highest free-jumping score to date, received the honor of the Premium designation
and placed third overall. During his 70-day stallion test (Munster-Handorf), Orbetello earned the
outstanding overall score of 121.988 (106.63 dressage; 131.72 jumping). He was approved by the
Belgian Warmblood (BWP), receiving 9.5 for jumping, rideability, walk, canter, type and forelegs. At the
2021 AHS inspection, Orbetello scored 9.0 for head, neck, hindleg and 8.0 for conformation, typiness,
frame, walk, canter. In 2023, he received BWP’s Elite Stallion title for his show jumping record. His sire,
BWP Ambassador Stallion Orlando, is highly ranked as a sporthorse producer. Grandsire Heartbreaker,
Keur stallion and leader on both Dutch and Belgian jumping indexes, produces upper-level jumpers and
eventers. His damline, Holsteiner mare Landkind, descends from Landgraf I by Ladykiller xx—the most
influential Thoroughbred stallion in German sporthorse history. Legendary Nimmerdor and Darco round
out his exceptional pedigree. Orbetello impressed throughout his competitive years, retiring sound at
age 18. With Margie Engle (USA), he earned the Winter Equestrian Festival 8-Year-Old Jumper Circuit
Championship, then excelled at 1.60m with Federico Style (ARG), Brianne Goutal-Marteau (USA) and
Paul O’Shea (IRE). Orbetello’s proven lineage, impeccable temperament with competitive longevity and
soundness, has strong appeal to breeders of warmblood and Thoroughbred mares. We look forward to
following the success of his young and upcoming offspring in dressage, eventing and show jumping.
