Beltano was licensed in Verden, and at his 30-day-test (Schlieckau, Germany), he earned impressive rideability scores of 10 from both test riders as well as 9.0 for temperament, 8.75 for canter and 8.5 for trot. With these scores, Beltano placed second in the dressage phase with a total of 145 points. Beltano won several young horse championships, including the young horse championship of Bärnau and received the Golden Knopf award. He qualified for the 2014 Bundeschampionat, thus becoming fully licensed by the Hanoverian Verband. His sire, Belissimo M, has had a successful career, earning Bundeschampion for dressage horses and placed fifth in the World Young Horse Breeding Championships. Beltano’s dam, SPS Heavenly, is a daughter of the celebrated Trakehner, Hohenstein I, of the legendary Donnerhall bloodline. Beltano was imported to the U.S. and is being developed as an international Grand Prix prospect by three-time Olympian, Guenter Seidel. In 2019, the pair debuted at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF 3) in Wellington, placing second at the CDI1* Prix St. Georges with a 71.324%. Beltano returned to AGDF 5 and won the CDI1* Prix St. Georges (72.892%). They also were successful at Intermediare II at the 2022 AGDF and placed third in the USDF Dressage Horse of the Year. Beltano’s foals in Germany were very successful at foal shows. They’re tall with modern type and beautiful gaits, showing much promise as future dressage prospects. Son, Benson Boy, is also in training with Seidel.
