Name Change Request

The name of a horse cannot be changed after the horse has been inspected and entered into the AHS breeding program. The new name must begin with the same letter as the previous name. It cannot exceed 20 letters including spaces and punctuation. The name cannot be used if it has already been used by another horse in the AHS database, however, you may use name or farm initials or numbers after the name. Contact Christy at christy@hanoverian.org and she will check to see if the name is available.

Please Note: To receive a new set of registration papes, the original registration papers must be sent to the AHS Office along with a copy of the confirmation email you receive after submitting the Name Change Request form. For security reasons, it is suggested that you send the papers via a trackable method (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)

Please complete all sections that apply. You may submit an order for multiple horses on one form.

Horse Information:
The fee for processing a Name Change Request through the AHS office is $100 per horse.

Membership Status:
You may submit a Name Change Form as a member or a non-member. You will need to be a current member in order to be eligible for AHS year-end awards.


Owner Information:
Each person by joining the AHS, or any person registering or applying for registration or transfer of a horse, hereby: 1) agrees to abide and be bound by the Corporate Bylaws and Rules of Registration of the AHS; and 2) waives and does release any and all legal claims and causes of action he/she/it has or may have against the AHS or any of its Officers, Directors, employees, or Committee members, individually or collectively, for any actions taken, or decisions made by those individuals in their position as officials of the AHS.
