Tyler, TX: Divine and Andrea Mitchell had a tremendous year in 2013, culminating in winning a 2013 USEA Blue Ribbon Year End Award in Beginner Novice and the 2013 USEA Senior Beginner Novice Amateur Reserve Championship. At the 2013 Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships, presented by VTO Saddlery, at the Texas Rose Horse Park in Tyler, Texas, they dominated both the dressage and cross country, finishing in first place both days. Divine is a 2004 bay Hanoverian gelding (ES Donavan - MS Winpenny), bred by Valerie Ahl, WI who purchased the mare from Wendy Costello (then of Riverland Farm in WI) after she weaned her first Donavan son, Davy Crockett from her side. Davy Crockett, bred by Nancy Bowlus of MD, was sold to the Costello’s who now own Kent Island Sporthorses in MD, where the Elite Hanoverian Stallion, Donavan, stands at stud.
Divine's dam, MS Winpenny (Weltbekannt-Wertherson), is an outstanding Hanoverian broodmare/riding horse bred by Suzanne Quarles, Some Day Soon Farm, MD. Divine is a full brother to the successful show horses, Davy Crockett , now owned by Michelle Cable, riding him in Hunter competition, after a successful Young Horse Dressage Career under JJ Tate, and Digby, owned by Dr. Colleen Rull. Andrea Mitchell is an accomplished rider in both dressage and eventing. She is the Southwest Chaper President of the Wisconsin Dressage & Combined Training Association.
