Dannebrog is sired by legendary dressage stallion, Don Schufro, out of the outstanding dam, St.Pr.
Byzantina—
a very strong dam line. Dannebrog has a super temperament, improves topline and
rideability. His foals tend to bear his trademark friendly disposition and high-quality movement.
Bred for dressage, Dannebrog’s well-rounded body type also produces a very pretty hunter-type
horse when bred type to type. Dannebrog has produced licensed sons including Duran Duran
(Florencio/Hohenstein), Diamant (x Fabriano) and ZFDP Premium Hengst Donaldson (x Worldly),
plus States Premium daughters. His full sister, Diva Dannebrog, produced the Westphalian stallion
licensing reserve champion. Dannebrog sired many AHS Gold Medal foals in 2023: Denali SDSF
(out of a Rascalino/DeLaurentis mare), a USDF Horse of the Year-Current Year Filly Champion
(84.40) who also won the USDF Traveling Trot Trophy, which recognizes the highest median score
of all dressage sport horses. Dannebrog completed his 300-day stallion test at Adelheidsdorf
in 2010, finishing third in dressage with an index of 135.74. His individual scores highlight his
fantastic mind and overall high quality: 9.0s on walk, trot, character and rideability, 8.0s on
canter, temperament, willingness to work and constitution. His test rider marks were equally
good with no score under 8.0, including jumping course canter 8.0. This 300-day test highlighted
his extraordinary character, fantastic rideability, and three supple and elastic gaits. Dannebrog
was ranked the No. 2 USEF Dressage Breeding Sire for 2023, his first year of being recorded.
