King Kolibri is an internationally proven competitor with a noteworthy pedigree. His sire, Kolibri,
called “Landgraf of the East,” is an important stallion in eastern Europe where he sired many
show jumpers. King Kolibri’s dam, Fixdesign Athletica (Libero H), won the final of the Toscana
Tour for 7-year-olds and jumped up to 1.60m including in the 2007 European Championships.
Athletica’s dam had a record through 1.50m and brings the blood of Pit I, Grannus and
Argentinus. As a young stallion, King Kolibri, was described as a noble, elastic stallion with great
show jumping potential. His career started with Olympian Jos Lansink who took King Kolibri
to the 5* level with impressive results including sixth place in the CSI5* Prix Europa of Aachen,
seventh in the CSI5* Dublin Grand Prix, and third in the CSI5* St Gallen Grand Prix. He was sold
to American rider, Lauren Tisbo, in the fall of 2011. They had a successful career including fifth
place in the $500,000 CSI5* Grand Prix in Wellington, FL and fourth in the CSI5* Queens Cup at
Spruce Meadows. He has produced jumpers with records through 1.60m–including 1.60m Bjorn
H, 1.50m King Julio, 1.50m Katinka Dree Boeken, 1.45m Dean and 1.45m Lady Kolibri, and highlevel
eventers including Team Bronze Paris Olympics Medalist Cekatinka JRA, El Kolibri (CCI4*-L)
and Etokwick (CCI4*-S). His offspring are easy to start, have good minds, balanced gaits and nice
mouths. He’s an excellent option for high energy blood-type mares.
