Some Day Soon Farm Perpetual Trophy

Announced in 2024, owners now have the option to enter their mares and geldings in the Horse Performance Test as a dressage only test where their horses aren't required to free jump. Horses doing the dressage only performance test will be evaluated using only rideability and gait scores (walk, trot, canter). Horses that do the dressage only performance test (no free jumping) must achieve a 7.25 overall score for gaits and rideability to pass their performance test.

The prestigious perpetual trophy is named in honor of Some Day Soon Farm which was home to many prolific Hanoverian horses. One of which was the 2000 Stallion of Distinction Elite Hanoverian stallion ES Wertherson. This Elite chestnut stallion was an incredible FEI horse who was nearly unbeatable at Prix St. George and Intermediare I. Wertherson’s offspring inherited his fluid movement. Other well-known stallions that stood in Suzanne and Steve’s breeding program were Elite Hanoverian Stallions ES Weltbekannt , ES Lorke, and ES Anhaltiner E.

Suzanne served as past AHS Executive Vice-President and East Regional Manager, Chair of the Mare and Stallion Committee and member of the Regulations and Grievances Committee. The AHS is deeply honored that Susan and Steve have chosen to name one of our distinguished perpetual trophies in tribute to their esteemed 250‑acre Hanoverian breeding farm, Some Day Soon Farm.

The Some Day Soon Farm trophy is awarded each year to the Hanoverian mare or gelding that achieves the highest Dressage Only horse performance test score during their inspection.

Congratulations to our 2025 winners!
