Störtebecker Sails at Top Price

Verden. The Verden Aukion Online in May ended with a brilliant final. The "bird" was once again shot down by a jumper. With 95,000 Euro, Störtebecker flew to the top price. An average of 22,524 Euros had to be invested for the 67 auction horses.

When "Lot 51" was called up early Saturday evening, things got exciting. Again and again the "bid up" was extended in the last second by another three minutes. Finally the price for Störtebecker by Stolzenberg/Graf Top (breeder and exhibitor: Axel Bahn, Maasen) – named after a pirate from the Middle Ages – was fixed at 95,000 Euros. The bay will be trained at Cian O'Connor and Ashford Farms. Seven years ago his full sister Samoa was one of the pearls of the jumping collection at the Elite Auction and was sold to Sweden for 130,000 Euros.

The collection of dressage horses was also highly coveted. 14 bidders had an eye on Stella Jones by Sarotti Mokka Sahne/Brentano II (breeder and exhibitor: Dagmar Meyer, Edemissen). The four-year-old Hannoveraner premium candidate convinced at the pre-selection and during the ten-day training period in Verden with absolute nerves of steel and outstanding basic quality. The last bid was 50,000 Euros. The mare will move into a box in a renowned training stable in Lower Saxony.

Since Tuesday last week, the highly talented young horses could be tried out in the training and sales centre of the Hannoveraner Verband. Following the proven Verden system – only without spectators. A system that was highly appreciated by the numerous interested parties. "We had numerous customer groups. Several renowned show-jumpers and trainers took a close look at our youngsters," says Wilken Treu, Managing Director of the Hannoveraner Verband.

The auction carousel in Verden continues with top foals. From June 3rd to 6th, the Hannoveraner Verband will be holding another highly interesting and high-quality offering of the 2020 foals. Further foal auctions will follow in the online auction series from June 10th to 13th and from July 1st to 4th. The next riding horses will be for sale on July 18 th. These talents can be personally inspected and tried out from July 7th in the training and sales centre.
