Just a quick note to remind all MAHB members of the AUIZHI-MAHB award and two new awards offered for MAHB-bred horses. If you have bred a Hanoverian and show it in-hand or have sold it to someone who will show it in-hand, these are available to you and your buyers. Something to remember:
AUIZHI-MAHB Award: Sponsored by Paul Cohen of Associations Underwriters, Inc. & Ziplow Horse Insurance Agency and awarded at Dressage at Devon. $1,000 to the high-placed (must be in the ribbons) Hanoverian bred by a MAHB member (must have been a member in the year the horse was registered and named as breeder on the papers) in the Young Horse division of the Open Breed show at Devon. Another $1,000 is also awarded to the high-placed MAHB-bred Hanoverian (same criteria) in the Mature Horse division. Money to be split between owner and breeder. Owner does not need to be a MAHB member (but that would be nice!).
Two new awards are being sponsored by MAHB this year. (Sorry, no money, yet, but a nice commemorative plaque.) The first one will be at Dressage at Lexington (July 13) and given to the high-placed MAHB-bred Hanoverian in the open in-hand classes of the breed show. (Same basic criteria as above.) The second show for this award will be Labor of Love (Labor Day weekend in Raleigh, NC). Details are the same as above.
