JBP Star Program Request Form

In addition to being selected for the program itself, mares that reach certain further achievements may be designated with one or more stars as follows:

  • JBP* (One Star) - Achievement Based on Mare Performance Test
    Any mare with an overall score for free jumping of 8.5 and an appropriate jumping pedigree
  • JBP** (Two Stars) - Achievement Based on Mare’s Success in Sport
    Any mare with three (3) placings first through fifth at 1.30m, or above, in either: i) classes with at least fifteen (15) horses, or ii) with clear rounds, at USEF “A” rated or Equine Canada class “1” shows,
  • JBP*** (Three Stars) - Achievement Based on Offspring Success in Sport
    Two offspring, each with at least one placing first through fifth at 1.40m, or above, in either: i) classes with at least fifteen (15) horses, or ii) with clear rounds, at USEF “A” rated or Equine Canada class “1” shows. The JBP*** may be awarded posthumously.

Mares that receive a star designation will have the appropriate JBP star logo added to their registration papers.

Enrollment Form

This Enrollment Form can be used to register your foal(or older horse) as well as to enroll a foal, young horse, mare, or stallion for an Inspection. Check the Inspection Tour Schedule and choose the inspection site you would like to attend. Own of horses being registered and/or attending inspections must be current members. You can join/renew you membership on this form as well. If you have any question on the process or eligibility, please contact our Registrar at or call 859-255-4141 ext. 102.

Stallion Inspection

Mare Inspection

If you are unsure if your mare is eligible to be inspected, send a copy of her papers to Christy at . for pedigree approval.

  • Inspection Pre-approval
    • Non-Hanoverian warmblood mares must send in their mare’s papers including their pedigrees for inspection pre-approval at least four weeks prior to the inspection you would like to attend.
    • Hanoverian, Rhineland, Jockey Club-papered Thoroughbred, and registered Arabian or Anglo/Arabian mares are automatically eligible for AHS/ARS inspection and do not need pre-approval.
  • Check the Inspection Tour Schedule and choose the inspection site you would like to attend, noting the deadline for that site.
  • Complete the mare Inspection enrollment form below.
    • A copy of your mare’s registration papers will need to be uploaded to the form.
    • You must be a current Active or Lifetime member to take a mare to inspection or participate in an Mare Performance Test. If you're not a current Active or Lifetime member, you can join/renew on the enrollment form.

Register a Foal or Older Horse

If you are unsure if your foal is eligible or Hanoverian or Rhineland registration, contact Christy at .

  • If both the sire and dam are are approved for the AHS breeding program please complete the form below.
  • Once the form and fees are received by the AHS office you will be sent a foal kit that includes a microchip and instructions to submit the DNA via the mail.
    • The DNA kit for parent verification will contain instructions on how to pull the foal's hair and place it on the enclosed form as well as where to mail it. Results will be sent to the AHS office not to you. The office will contact you with the results.
    • The microchip is injected by your licensed veterinarian who will sign the Microchip Certificate. As the foal owner, you will need to return the microchip certificate to the office via the mail or email a picture of the signed certificate to . The AHS does not issue refunds if you elect to use your personal microchips. Your licensed veterinarian completes the provided microchip certificate after scanning the horses neck, writing the microchip number on the form. It is your responsibility to return the completed certificate to the AHS office.
    • Three (3) name choices are required when applying for papers. Names must begin with the first letter of the sire's name and are not to exceed 20 characters including spaces and punctuation. Often, initials or numbers are used after a name for a second or third choice.
  • After the microchip certificate has been returned, the parent-verification results have been received and all fees have been paid, foal papers will be issued and mailed to the owner.
    • If all foal requirements are submitted to the AHS Office by Dec. 31 of the year of birth, the foal will receive a complimentary USEF number.

Futurity Class

The AHS Yearling & Two-Year Old Futurity is open to all horses with Hanoverian or Rhineland registration papers or Certificate of Pedigree from either the AHS or the Hanverian/Rhineland Verband.
