The elegant Hanoverian mare, Danseuse MF was named the Grand Champion Horse of the Show at Dressage at Devon. Danseuse MF is a two year old filly by Don Principe out of the Elite Mare Furst Dancer MF (by Furst Heinrich). She began with a commanding win in the Two-Year Old Fillies class with a score of 89.2%. She went on to win the Filly Championship and place second in the Young Horse Championship on Tuesday evening.
Rested and refreshed on Wednesday evening, Danseuse danced in the Dixon Oval to win the Grand Championship over an impressive group of horses. Even after a big trot run, she immediately settled into the ground-covering, relaxed walk that is so much her sire’s trademark. King Santacruz did a superb job handling Danseuse in both the prep at Hilltop Farm leading up to the show, as well as during Devon.
The icing on the cake for the Haymon's was Don Principe's repeat of his 2013 win of the DOD Get of Sire class, once again proving himself as the top sire in a class of offspring representing the best stallions in the USA. Duet MF and David Bowie MF, both Traveling Trot Awards winners for USDF in 2011 and 2012, won the class with the amazing score of 84.6%. Congratulations to Marydell Farm and the Haymon family on their continued success at Dressage at Devon with their outstanding Hanoverian horses sired by Don Principe.
