Lexington, KY: This fall The American Hanoverian Society will hold elections for six open positions on the AHS Board of which three are Regional Director positions (East, Midwest and West) and three are for Directors at Large. In addition voting will be held for the elected members of the Nominations and Membership Committee (3) and the Finance Committee (1). The terms of office shall be six years, from 2015 to 2020.
To date, six qualified individuals have been nominated for the Board, and a number of individuals have declared for the open committee positions. To run for office, the candidate must have been an Active member of the AHS for at least three consecutive years with no lapse in membership. AHS membership follows the calendar year and if dues are not paid by March 1 the membership is deemed to have lapsed.
Nominations for qualified individuals may be sent to Executive Director Hugh Bellis-Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively nominations may be sent to one of the members of the Nominations Committee, namely Diane Nauman (email@example.com), Judy Hedreen (firstname.lastname@example.org), Cathy Tucker-Slaterbeck (email@example.com), Pat Limage (firstname.lastname@example.org), Sandy Hunt (email@example.com), Cheryl Johnson (Cheryl@hiddenacresfarm.net), and Mary Lou Winn (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The Committee will determine the final slate by the second week of October, and online voting will take place late November or early December. The AHS Board believes that this democratic process is one of the strengths of the association; we thank you for your participation in this aspect of society governance.
